Summer is fast approaching, and with it comes an opportunity for powerful vision-casting. We who are uniquely EFCA are gathering in New Orleans July 1-3 to discuss “the main thing” of our evangelical movement.

The EFCA One Conference is the re-imagined, retooled and reinvigorated leadership conference—now scheduled every other year. At EFCA One this year, we’ll enjoy an emphasis on biblical exposition from top Christian leaders such as Gordon MacDonald and Kevin DeYoung; opportunity for dialog in evening “hot-topic” sessions; and a continued exploration of how we hold true to our commitment to the gospel—the core of who we are as the EFCA.

What won’t change from past leadership conferences? Vibrant worship, training workshops, opportunities to recharge and reconnect.

Fellow EFCA leaders helped brainstorm what our biennial conference might become. And they are enthusiastic about being together in New Orleans this summer. “The EFCA is distinct in this one way: We are both orthodox and innovative,” says Joe Henseler, senior pastor of Faith EFC in Allentown, Pa. “I hope EFCA One puts on display our anchored commitment to biblical truth, coupled with our passion to find new ways to reach people for Jesus Christ.”

A focus on the movement’s cause is pivotal, agrees Larry Austin, associate superintendent of the Central District. “The biennial conference must be an extension of that ‘one thing’ that makes us a movement,” he says. “I think the conference is aptly named.”

Don’t miss gathering with the rest of the EFCA movement this summer and being in on the ground level of this powerful vision-casting.
