Hurricane Harvey Response

EFCA ReachGlobal Crisis Response is uniquely positioned to bring the hope of Christ following Hurricane Harvey.

Your help is needed

Organize a team to serve affected families and invest in relationships to impact Texas and the surrounding area with the gospel. With the current flooding and damage to infrastructure, teams of limited size are currently being accepted.

This will be a long and involved response. Crisis Response is looking for individuals interested in joining our team as staff for the longer term.

Email to learn more about these opportunities.

We are currently engaged in relational outreach through the clean-up and rebuilding of homes, prayer walks, follow-up and visitation in the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey.

The Harvey Response vision of the impacted EFCA churches and Texas-Oklahoma District, and the enormous extent of the impact on families have made it clear this will be a 3-5 year response effort. Response sites include Central Houston, Friendswood (South Houston) and the Corpus Christi area.

This outreach is not only to rebuild homes, but to rebuild lives and bring the hope of Christ to those in need. We are already seeing the fruit of the workers for the harvest with homeowners, volunteers and local church engagement.

Join in sharing the love of Christ with those in need. Based on Crisis Response's experience with such a major event, ministry outreach opportunities for churches in Texas will last for years.

Pray for the hope of Christ to be instilled in the homeowners impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Pray they see the joy in the volunteers that serve in their homes and gain a desire for that same joy.

Pray for the church in the initial stages of being planted in the Texas Gulf coast area near Corpus Christi. Pray specifically that a church planter would be identified and small groups would begin to gather in the Harvey-impacted areas near Rockport and Aransas Pass, Texas.

Pray the words of Matthew 9:38, that God would send volunteer teams, interns and short- or long-term staff to Texas to continue the work that has begun.

Pray for the local churches with which we have partnered. Pray they can continue to share the gospel to their neighbors through the access ministry of rebuilding homes.

The mission of ReachGlobal Crisis Response

We exist to develop, empower and release the Body of Christ to share His love in times of crisis for multiplying transformational churches among all people.

To advance this mission, ReachGlobal Crisis Response seeks to aid in the development and transformation of:

  • Local churches as they will be in the community long after the crisis ends.
  • Homeowners in the affected areas, who can then transform their neighborhoods.
  • Volunteers as they take what they have learned home to affect their own churches and communities with the gospel message.
