Part-time role providing prayer, teaching and a nurturing connection and servant leadership to all people, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities.

Ministry description

The Disability Ministry Lead will provide spiritual care, nurturing connection and servant leadership to participants, their families and volunteers through strong relationships, prayer and teaching, with the goal of making Jesus Christ’s love, care and His Word accessible to all people, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities.

Qualifications

  • Growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with New Hope Church’s Statement of Faith
  • Committed to New Hope Church (NHC) as a local church and eligible for church membership
  • Strong administrative, organizational and communication skills
  • Sensitivity toward those impacted by disabilities
  • Pastoral or spiritual counseling skills
  • Clear communicator of God’s Word
  • Collaborative attitude and relational savvy

Responsibilities

  1. Be a champion of NHC’s vision, leadership and ministries
  2. Work collaboratively with other NHC ministry leaders to cultivate partnership and effectiveness
  3. Participate and invest in NHC staff community
  4. Embrace any additional opportunities as assigned to contribute to NHC’s ministry impact
  5. Provide visionary, collaborative and servant leadership to the Disability Ministry staff team
  6. Oversee weekly programming and special events for adults with disabilities to help introduce them to and grow in Jesus
  7. Develop teaching content that makes Scripture accessible, serving as primary teacher for weekly programming
  8. Build strong and Christ-centered relationships with those impacted by disabilities, their families and caregivers, offering prayer, spiritual counsel and support
  9. Communicate and pray for prayer needs and actively organize prayer opportunities for participants, their families, caregivers and volunteers
  10. Foster relationships with participants through church events and visitation to residences as needed
  11. Attend other disability events and seminars to represent NHC and develop networks for greater resourcing and effectiveness
